Translations of the Austrian School of Economics and Commentary

Praxeologos

Praxeologos signs the translations, articles and commentary of Praxeology, a publication devoted to the Austrian School of Economics and to the defence of individual liberties, which today come under ever heavier attack. He writes and edits praxeologos.net, a personal, non-commercial website, while his texts also appear on his Substack page, through which you can contact him.

He has brought foundational works of the school into Greek. From Ludwig von Mises he has translated Human Action, Planned Chaos, The Ultimate Foundation of Economic Science, Economic Policy and Economic Calculation in the Socialist Commonwealth. From Murray N. Rothbard he has translated Man, Economy, and State together with Power and Market, For a New Liberty, Anatomy of the State and What Has Government Done to Our Money? He has also translated texts by Carl Menger, Frédéric Bastiat, Leonard E. Read, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Stephan Kinsella and Saifedean Ammous. Most of the translations come with a translator’s introduction or preface, and many are offered in bilingual reading, with the English original beside the Greek text.

In his own articles and commentary he reads current affairs in the light of Mises and Rothbard. In Current Affairs he comments briefly on the economic news from Europe, referring to the relevant chapters of the books and to the terms of the Glossary. His articles also appear in English.

For the site he created the Glossary of the Austrian School (English ↔ Greek), as well as the Map of Ideas, which connects thinkers, books and concepts. He also made Ask Mises, which finds verbatim passages in the texts, and the reading guide Start here. For young readers he writes illustrated stories that explain how the economy works, among them the Robinson’s Island series. As he notes himself, nothing on the site would exist without the intellectual awakening the Mises Institute gave him.
