What happens to your data when you read this site

Praxeologos

praxeologos.net is a personal, non-commercial website. It collects no information about its visitors: it has no accounts, forms, ads, cookies or visitor statistics.

Who runs it

The site is written and run by Praxeologos. You can reach him through his Substack page: praxeologue.substack.com.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, sending you a page means Cloudflare’s servers receive your IP address and the technical details of the request, such as which page you asked for and which browser you use. Cloudflare uses them to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks, under its privacy policy. The site keeps no logs of IP addresses.

Only if Cloudflare’s security system thinks a visit looks automated may it ask for a short check and store a strictly necessary cookie (cf_clearance). In normal browsing no cookie is stored.

No statistics, no third parties

The site uses no statistics or tracking tools (analytics). It loads nothing from other companies: fonts, images, audio and PDFs are hosted on the site itself, and there are no embeds from YouTube, X, Google or anyone else.

“Ask Mises” and the tools run in your browser. Your question is not sent to any AI service or other company. It is only added to the page address (?q=…) so that you can share it; if you reload the page or open such a link, the address reaches Cloudflare like any other.

What stays on your device

A few settings are stored only in your browser and are never sent anywhere:

  • the theme you chose, dark or light, if you press its button;
  • on the Greek pages, how you prefer to view bilingual (Greek–English) reading, if you choose it;
  • which Current Affairs note was the newest when you last opened Current Affairs, so that the “new” marker goes away;
  • for a moment and only in the current tab, which passage to highlight when you open it from the “Map of Ideas”; it is deleted as soon as the page opens.

You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Links and children

Links to other sites, such as Substack, X or mises.org, are plain links: nothing is sent to them unless you click. From then on, the privacy policy of the site you visit applies. The Kids corner works like the rest of the site: no information is asked for.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data by writing to Praxeologos through Substack. As the site keeps no visitor data, there will usually be nothing to give you. You can also contact the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.
